There were a lot of poles that did stay and rebuilt there lives got married and had children. i worked with some poles that fought in the war from britain and i wouldnt have a bad word said about them, really nice guys really helpful and modest. but saying that yes they were treated badly after the war, there was a big memorial built in north London celeberating the poles and there bravery.

This band is my counter to "Christian metal sucks". Christian or not, if you actually believe the message this song is getting across, you cannot deny that the music is expertly written and performed, the mixing is insanely good, and the lyrics (anybody's personal beliefs aside) are a masterclass in writing good poetry.

As a People I love the Poles. They are intelligent, loyal, fun loving, good drinkers, and freedom loving in a major way. One other thing, those implacable bastards will fight you down to the last unbroken bone and still spit in your eye. I compare them to wolverines; not the biggest in the forest but ask the bear, ask the wolf, ask the mountain lion and they'll tell you your day will go so much better if you leave that particular stick of dynamite alone. 😎

Gotta say I prefer John Williams' version. Not that I in any way disliked Ana's, but John's version just hits me harder with the feels. That's probably partly because that's the version I'm used to hearing, but it just feels more... peaceful. Melancholic. This is one of those pieces where when I'm listening to it it soothes any feelings of anger, annoyance or aggression and I just sit back, breathe out and relax and listen.
